The LEADERSHIP | Residency Experience

What to expect:

Prayer
A growing prayer and devotional life are vital for a disciple, so we start every day with time set aside for these disciplines.

Instruction
Learning helps us understand the culture and worldview of those we serve, as well as allows us to continue to define ours. We practice this daily through classes in biblical study, leadership, and ministry. At the end of the Residency you will have completed one course though Global University that can apply toward your Assemblies of God ministerial credentials, if you choose to pursue that.

Small Groups
A key component to our learning culture is exposure to key leaders and peer discussion. We do this through small groups that meet several times throughout the week. In roundtable discussions with leaders like the District Youth Director, District Superintendent, Evangelists, Missionaries, and Church Planters you'll hear first hand experiences and be able to ask questions and dialogue with top leaders in a comfortable environment.

Ministry
Hands-on experience in leading students and services is vital to our Residency. Serve in key roles of camp leadership and learn from seasoned pastors in a mentoring relationship as you plan and execute the many different experiences of Camp in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Use your gifts to create an atmosphere to boldly lift up Jesus and watch Him move in the lives of a generation.

Dorm Life
We are blessed to have housing right on our campus. You will share housing with other Residents and since you are together 24/7, discipleship opportunities are never far away! Life in a dorm with several other disciples is a life-changing experience. Each weekend we will travel to a different local church to take the opportunity to worship with and learn from churches, pastors, and leaders across our state fellowship.

Academics:

Ministerial Courses

This will help you on your path to ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. This is also beneficial if you want to learn more about the Bible but do not plan on going to Bible College.

Doctrine

We have found that although many students have a genuine passion for God, far too many of them do not know basic theology. Without a firm foundation on what we believe, it is way too easy to be swayed from the Truth. Here we can know the Truth by challenging our beliefs through study and discussion led by capable teachers.

Pragmatics

A lot of what we learn in life is theory, but when confronted with real-life challenges the untested theories do not always hold up. Each week we have a district leader, pastor, evangelist, missionary or other leader share with us practical truths they have learned along their journey.

Hermeneutics (Biblical Study and Interpretation)

We want students to not just know the words that make up the bible but to know more about what God is telling us by studying things like context, culture, and intent of the writers. By learning to use Bible Study tools, students are equipped with the skills for a lifetime of deeper study of God's Word.
